Bill Robbins

Biography
With more than 22 years of consulting and development experience Bill Robbins has broad experience in the areas of automotive logistics, facility and operational design, project administration, site construction and business developement.
He has recently managed a 100-acre redevelopment initiative at the Port of Richmond for GLOVIS America, which will be the main port of entry for Kia and Hyundai, and has completed major projects for the ports of Portland, Long Beach and Los Angeles amongst others.

Bill Villalon

Biography
Bill Villalon presently heads the Global Automotive Practice for APL Logistics based in Oakland, CA. A member of APL and APL Logistics since the mid-1980s, Mr Villalon has served as President, Americas for APL Logistics; Vice President of the former APL Stacktrain Services group; and Vice President, Southeast Asia for APL Liner. Born in San Francisco, he holds an MBA from the University of California, Berkeley.

Biography
As a key leader of MHSI since 1997 Brennan is responsible for international operations, strategic planning and training initiatives.
Through his leadership, the plants producing the PT Cruiser, the PL Neon, and Viper became world-class benchmarks for DaimlerChrysler. With 20 years experience in automotive material handling beginning at General Motors, his knowledge of material handling principles has been instrumental in driving cost improvements and lean methodologies into several customers worldwide.

Carsten Goransch

Biography
Carsten Goransch joined Volkswagen Logistics in 1991. He gained experience in supply chain management and production planning in the Group Logistics Department of Volkswagen. In 1994 he became Head of Production Planning & Disposition at the VW de Mexico plant and was heavily involved in the production launch of the New Beetle. In 1999 he joined VW of America and took over the Distribution Logistics Department for North American Volkswagen. Since 2003 he has been in charge of Shanghai Volkswagen Logistics.

Biography
Madam Chen Guopei joined Shanghai Customs as an assistant inspector in July 1966. Prior to being appointed as the Deputy District Director of Shanghai Customs district she was the Director of Hong Qiao Airport Customs and WU Song Customs respectively. At present she is Customs Commissioner Second Class in terms of our military-like ranking system. She graduated from the Shanghai Institute of Foreign Trade in 1966 and with a major in English.

Biography
Claus Svane Schmidt, is the Regional Executive Vice President of Marketing & Sales at Panalpina, one of the world's leading providers of forwarding and logistics services. He is responsible for the Marketing and Sales activities in Asia Pacific and oversees a team of more than 400 sales professionals. Claus brings with him more than 20 years of industry experience and before joining Panalpina in 1999 he was the Managing Director of Jacky Maeder in Thailand for seven years.

Daniel Brehon

Biography
Since 1979 Dr Brehon has been in the PSA Peugeot-Citroen Group, where he has occupied management positions in training, auditing, production and marketing. He then joined the Gefco Group, a PSA logistics subsidiary, in 1992, and was successively in charge of the Logistics Studies Department, Finished Cars Preparation Business Unit, and International Projects Development. Dr Brehon is now General Manager of the newly created GEFCO-DTW Logistics Joint Venture.

Dr Narayanaswamy Ramu

Biography
Dr Ramu holds a Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering from India's Bangalore University, a Masters Degree In Industrial Engineering and Management from the AIT in Bangkok and a PhD in Industrial Engineering from Clemson University in the US. As well as teaching at the Department of Industrial and Production Engineering at Bangalore's MSR Institute of Technology, he has a wealth of logistics consultancy experience with companies including Ford, GM and Chrysler.
Dr Ramu is responsible for implementation of lean material flow for the BJC's new plant in Beijing.

Jacky Wang

Biography
Prior to joining DHL Jacky Wang was the Material Planning & Logistics Director for Ford's China operations for six years. He has a rich experience in inbound and outbound logistics which includes: global supply chain management, plant production planning and manufacturing, global sourcing, production supplier and logistics vendor management, and 3PL and LLP management. He has good knowledge and experience of both the automotive and logistics industry, particularly for China.
He was invited as a speaker for the last Autologistics Conference in China and was one of the three speakers on the final panel.

James Hsu

Biography
Based in Singapore, James Hsu has overall responsibility for Menlo Worldwide Logistics' business operations in the region.
Before Menlo he was deputy director of Singapore's Economic Development Board, responsible for the formulation of strategies and the development of new business models for the logistics and supply chain industry in Singapore. He has extensive experience in the logistics industry, having served in key management positions at UPS and TNT in Asia, and has degrees in industrial and mechanical engineering to his credit.

James Coulson has managed Sea Containers' and latterly GESeaco's fleet of special containers since the early 1980s. GESeaco is the world's leading lessor of marine containers. Prior to joining Sea Containers he marketed capital equipment and was with the Clan Line. He is a member of the Institute of Logistics and Transport.

Jerry Wang was born in China but received his Master's degree at Rutgers University in the US. He joined General Motors in the US and held various executive positions there, and in Japan and Hong Kong. He joined American President Lines' logistics operations in 2000 as Managing Director, Automotive Operation, China, based in Shanghai.

Biography
Joanna Li has a BA degree in English Literature from Suzhou University, China and a Master of Science degree in Business Administration from Madonna University, USA. She has been previously the Marketing Manager of Suzhou Singapore Industrial Park, HR and Administration Manager of Suzhou Capsugel Ltd (a Pfizer affiliate) and Marketing Director of Shanghai Zizhu Science Park. She became Marketing Director at Shanghai Lingang in October 2003.

Biography
Having graduated from Shanghai Maritime University with a BA degree, Owen Xie has worked with NYK Line in China for nine years and with NYK Logistics for two years. During this time he has actively contributed in the rapid expansion of NYK in the country. He now leads a team in Shanghai specifically supporting the automotive logistics business, a key area of the company's growth strategy.

Biography
Philip Christian Eller joined the BMW Group in January 2001, first as Vice President of Supply Chain Management and member of the Managing Board of Nexolab, and from July 2003 in his present position, based in Shenyang, China. He has held various managerial positions in logistics prior to this, at GM, Opel and Aeroquip Sterling and has a Masters Degree in Business Administration, specifically in logistics and marketing Mr Eller also has extensive lecturing experience in the logistics field.

Sylvia Hill has been with Delphi for more than 20 years, serving in a variety of management, operations and strategic planning positions. Delphi's Asia Pacific organization has operations in China, Japan, Korea, Singapore, Australia, Thailand, India, Malaysia and Indonesia.

Zhaokang Jiang is the Regional Customs Counsel, Asia Pacific for Delphi Corporation.
Prior to joining Delphi he was with the China government customs agency, following his US law career. He has authored and translated numerous publications and is a regular speaker at international forums.
He received his LL.B from the East China Law and Politics University in Shanghai, China and LL.M degrees from the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences in Beijing, China and Yale University Law School, New Haven, US. He holds Bar Association memberships in both China and the US.

Jin Kiat Koh

Biography
With an MBA from Manchester Business School, Jin Kiat Koh worked at Volkswagen Asia Pacific before moving on to become Regional Account Manager at Emery Worldwide, later renamed Menlo Worldwide Forwarding. He was then Regional Manager at Vector SCM, a SCM joint venture between Menlo Worldwide and General Motors, and assumed Director, Global Automotive Solutions, Asia Pacific there before Menlo's takeover by UPS.
